How to use peanut shells to make organic fertilizer

China is a big country for peanut cultivation. As a by-product of peanuts, peanut shells are not fully utilized and are discarded or burned as fuel. Peanut shell is rich in wood fiber, vitamins and minerals. It is suitable to be used as feed or organic fertilizer by fertilizer granulator. But in actual production, peanut shells are possible to infect pests and diseases, so it must be fully decomposed first, so as to ensure that the pests and diseases on the peanut shells are completely killed, and the cross-infection of pests and diseases on crops is avoided.

Benefits of peanut shell organic fertilizer

The main components of peanut shell are lignin and cellulose, containing a small amount of trace elements such as N,P,K, and a small amount of protein, which can be the most plant-grown fertilizer.
But if only pure peanut shell is used to produce organic fertilizer, its nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content is very low, and the nitrogen content is only 0.65%. It can be said that it is very small. The low nitrogen content causes the pure peanut shell to undergo fermentation very slowly and is not easy to rot; and these small amounts of trace elements and proteins cannot provide sufficient nutrients for crops, so if pure peanut shells are used to make organic fertilizers applied to farmland, in addition to being able to loosen the soil, the effect on crops is not ideal.
The best way is to mix the other animal manure and urine with high nitrogen content in the process of fermenting the fermented peanut shell, and carry out the fermentation decomposition of the pile, accelerate the fermentation process, and make the organic fertilizer, so that the organic fertilizer not only improves soil fertility, improves soil aggregate structure, and provides more comprehensive nutrient elements, improves crop yield and enhances disease resistance. We need to mix the fermented peanut shell compost with other NPK nutrition raw materials, which will be further processed by NPK fertilizer granulator.

Method for fermenting organic fertilizer using peanut shell

1. Peanut shells are wetted and infiltrated with water. The water content is generally controlled at about 50%. The peanut shells are pulverized in advance, which can reduce the air content between the objects, and facilitate the reproduction and heat transfer of microorganisms to accelerate the speed of decay;
2. Add equal or half of the livestock manure. At the same time, add dead leaves, crop straws, kitchen waste and other wastes. Dilute the fertilizer fermenting agent with water and spray it evenly on the fertilizer.
3. Stack in a ventilated place, carry out fermentation, and turn over once every 3-5 days.

During the composting process, it should be turned over if necessary. Generally, when the stack temperature is over the peak and the temperature is lowered, the stacking can re-mix the materials with different decomposition temperatures of the outer layer. If the humidity is insufficient, some water can be added to promote the composting evenly.
Peanut shell treatment requires the use of some organic fertilizer production line equipment, such as composting turner machine. The capacity of the turner is large, which greatly shortens the fermentation time.
