Operator Safety Precautions for Horizontal Fertilizer Mixers
Operators working with horizontal fertilizer mixers must observe the following points:
1. Pre-Startup Inspection
Verify that the motor, reducer, belts, chains, and safety guards are intact and in good condition. Ensure that the bearings and transmission components are sufficiently lubricated. Clear any caked material or debris from inside the machine; confirm that no hard objects remain before closing and securely latching the access door.
2. Material Loading Procedures
Load materials according to the specified mixing ratio and sequence. It is strictly forbidden to dump materials abruptly or to overload the machine. Prevent hard objects—such as stones, metal scraps, or plastic bags—from entering the machine to avoid damaging the mixing blades or jamming the main shaft.
3. Strict Prohibition of Improper Operations During Running
While the fertilizer produciton machine is in operation, strictly refrain from reaching hands or inserting tools into the machine, and do not open the inspection/maintenance doors. If any abnormal noises, excessive vibrations, smoke, or jamming occur, immediately stop the machine and cut off the power supply; never operate the equipment while it is in a faulty condition.
4. Mixing and Discharge Control
Carefully control the mixing duration to ensure thorough and uniform blending. During discharge, monitor the outlet to check for blockages; do not attempt to force the material out by prying or poking, and take precautions to prevent material spillage and dust inhalation.
5. Safety Protection
Wear appropriate work clothing, dust masks, and gloves. Avoid wearing loose-fitting clothing or gloves when working in close proximity to rotating components. The equipment must be reliably grounded to prevent electrical leakage hazards.
6. Shutdown and Cleaning
Upon completion of work, stop loading new materials first; wait until all remaining material inside the machine has been fully discharged before shutting down the equipment. Regularly clean residual material from the inner walls to prevent caking, which could compromise the mixing accuracy of subsequent batches.
7. Routine Maintenance
Periodically inspect the mixing blades and liner plates for signs of wear, and promptly tighten any loose bolts. Replace the reducer's lubricating oil according to the manufacturer's specifications, and keep the equipment clean and dry.
