How to Reduce Material Blockage in Organic Fertilizer Horizontal Mixers?

Reducing material blockage in organic fertilizer horizontal mixers requires attention to three aspects: feeding, equipment adjustment, and maintenance:

1. Controlling Feeding Conditions: The moisture content of raw materials must be strictly controlled between 20% and 30%. Excessive moisture easily leads to clumping and sticking; pre-drying or adding dry materials can help. Large pieces of material (diameter > 5cm) must be crushed before feeding to prevent them from getting stuck between the mixing shaft and the drum wall. Maintain a uniform feeding speed and install a spiral pre-feeder to avoid excessive material feeding at once, which can cause instantaneous accumulation.

2. Optimizing Equipment Structure: Install a grate (8-10cm aperture) at the mixer inlet to intercept large impurities; adjust the mixing shaft blade angle to 45° to enhance pushing force; line the drum wall with stainless steel plates where material tends to stick to reduce adhesion; install an electric gate at the discharge port, which opens intermittently according to the mixing progress to prevent backflow caused by poor discharge. 3. Routine Maintenance and Operation: After each shutdown, clean the residual material inside the drum, especially the blade roots and corners, to prevent hardened clumps. Check blade wear weekly; replace blades when wear exceeds 1/3 to avoid material blockage due to reduced pushing force. Operators must monitor current changes in real time; if the current suddenly increases (exceeding the rated value by 10%), immediately stop the machine and investigate to prevent material jamming and equipment damage.

Through these measures, the probability of material sticking, accumulation, and jamming can be significantly reduced, ensuring continuous operation of the organic fertilizer equipment.
